New hire checklist

As a new employee, you have access to a wide range of Disney benefits and programs. Use this checklist to help you make the most of your 2019 benefits.

  • Register for D Life | My Benefits
About 3-5 days after your date of hire, you will receive eligibility information from Fidelity Investments®, Disney's benefits administrator. Once received, you can register with D Life | My Benefits by selecting the "New User Registration" link. Enter the last four digits of your Social Security number, your first and last name, and your date of birth, and then create your username and password.
  • Attend a benefits orientation webcast (for all locations except Hawaii)
Join a live one-hour webcast with Q&A about your Disney benefits and enrolling—available the first and third Friday of each month at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Preregistration is not required.
  • Talk to ALEX®
Get help deciding which medical option might be best for you and your budget.
  • Ensure you have a primary doctor and specialist who is in-network
A primary doctor is required for HMO medical options and encouraged for other medical options.
  • Enroll in your 2019 benefits by the deadline shown on your Personal Fact Sheet*
Your enrollment deadline is generally 31 days after your date of hire, unless a waiting period applies. To get started, select “NetBenefits” at the top of the page. You can print a confirmation of your enrollment through NetBenefits® if you need care before your ID cards arrive in the mail.
  • Learn about the Disney 401(k) Savings Plan (if eligible)
Go to D Life | My Benefits and select “Enhance Your Savings,” then select “Disney 401(k) Savings Plan” to learn more about your plan and view your eligibility. Your employee contributions will begin automatically 90 days after your date of hire, unless you choose otherwise.** You’ll receive enrollment information with details about your contribution amount, effective date and investment options by mail or email, if you opt in to eDelivery. Click "NetBenefits" at the top of any page to change your contribution or investment elections virtually any time after your contributions begin.
  • Learn about Voluntary Benefits
Sign up for discounts on home, auto and pet insurance—and check out the Purchasing Power Program as a potential way to pay for purchases through automatic payroll deductions.
  • Take the PHA to start earning 2020 wellness rewards
Earn up to $300 each for you and your enrolled spouse/domestic partner—up to $600 total.
  • Get to know Disney accounts
Learn how to cover eligible expenses with tax-free savings.

* If you do not enroll by the deadline on your Personal Fact Sheet, you will be enrolled in default coverage. Your next opportunity to elect coverage will be during Annual Benefits Enrollment in the fall for coverage effective the following January.
** If you are covered by a collective bargaining agreement that does not provide for automatic enrollment, you can enroll in the 401(k) Plan by going to D Life | My Benefits and selecting “Enroll In/View Your 401(k) Account” or by texting “Start” to 343898.
Your contributions will be invested in a BlackRock LifePath fund based on your age. You can make changes to your investments at any time. You can roll over existing 401(k) account balances into the Disney plan at any time. Rollover information (including forms) is available on Fidelity NetBenefits®. Choose “Rollovers” from the Quick Links menu for the Disney 401(k) Savings Plan.
